CHEN Lu-He

CHEN Lu-He pursues environmentally friendly tea farming as the final chapter of his life.

He retired and returned to Pinglin to “make the best tea”, and believes that only tea without pesticides represents the signature flavors of this land.

From planting to roasting tea, from environmental restoration to guided talks, he firmly believes that only cultivation methods that protect the habitats holds the key to coexistence between "people", "agriculture", and "nature". He plants tea in the morning and takes consumers into the tea fields and home in the afternoon to explain the origins of the people, the hometown, and the beliefs of this land.

LIN Dao-Hsien

All stories have a starting point.

Dao-Hsien, who lives in Datsukeng, has been growing tea in his family in Pinglin for generations. In 2013, Dao-Hsien became the first Blue Magpie Tea farmer partner, marking the beginnings of Blue Magpie Tea. The tea he grows has a simple and earnest taste. His grandmother is a treasure trove and the cornerstone of Dao-Hsien’s family. To this day, he remains the leading figure in Datsukeng, Pinglin to advance the catchment area recovery campaigns.

LIANG Jin-Fu

LIANG Jin-Fu, we usually call him by "village chief”, because in addition to being a tea farmer, he is also the chief of Shang-de village.

The village chief said that because a pair of sambar deer escaped from a nearby deer farm to the tea fields, they can often be seen ranging in the lands. Therefore, this area is called the Sambar Deer Escape Tea Fields, or simply the Sambar Deer Tea Fields.

The village chief has great confidence in his teas, which indeed prove to be outstanding, embodied in his attention towards each step of the tea-making process. Furthermore, he shows great care in tea planting, showing consumers how tea is grown and made in accordance with the traditional Chinese concept of solar terms.
